Releasing Stress

The world is hurting! The only thing we have the ability to change is our inner world. Letting stress accumulate in the body not only has health consequences but also brings down the collective vibration of the planet. We can all do our part in raising that vibration by taking care of ourselves first. Yes, FIRST!

Sometimes even the idea of “working on stress” can cause more stress. When I work with clients, they usually sail through the dietary interventions and exercise. But when it comes to self-care, many people find it hard to justify taking the time to care for themselves and feel guilty if they do.

We are trained to believe that we should take care of others before we make time to care for ourselves. In reality, our capacity to help others expands when we engage in practices that help us feel grounded and energized.

We can release stress in little increments. Simple practices can help us diffuse tension in our bodies in a moment’s time, even when we are with others. When we notice pain or tension, or maybe a burning feeling in the stomach, step number one is to become aware of it and acknowledge it. Step two is to focus all of our attention on that spot, and simply listen in.

The body is intelligent, and when we experience physical sensations associated with stress, it’s trying to get our attention. Explore this technique and let me know what happens for you!

Many wonderful herbs support the body and promote resiliency under stress. Ashwagandha is called an “adaptogen” for its ability to help us adapt when our external world poses challenges. Please explore my health and wellness store for the complete collection!
